Description: 8ft (2.5m). Deciduous. Prickly. Glossy, wrinkled leaves that turn yellow in autumn. Large, open flowers, deep pink, in summer and autumn. Large orange-red hips.Varieties include: "Alba" (white) and "Rubra", deep purplish red.

Cultivation: Fully hardy.Sun and moist, fertile soil.
